Kerinci is most active volcanoes in
Indonesia, with nearly annual phreatic eruptions. Kerinci last erupted
in 2004, and continues to spew clouds of sulphurous smoke, with plumes
reaching as high as 1,000 m (3,281 ft) above the summit. While there is
farmland in the area, and a tea plantation on its southern slope,
Kerinci, being located in an Indonesian national park, and perhaps out
of respect for its frequent growlings as well, sits in an area that is
sparsely populated by Indonesian population-density standards.
Kerinci can be climbed from the village
of Kersik Tuo, 6 or 7 hours away from Padang by car or bus. The climb
and descent normally takes 3 days and 2 nights, if you choose to go to
the summit. You may also choose to go up only till Camp 2 or 2.5,
skipping the summit attempt which is a night climb; and take 2 days and 1
night instead.

Day 1: Arrival – Kerinci Seblat
Pick up upon arrival Padang Airport from
CGK by domestic flight. Meet your guide at Padang airport and Transfer
to Kerinci Seblat National Park, designated to UNESCO Wolrd Nature
Heritage. Lunch en route. Diner and overnight at Tourist Guesthouse in
Kersik Tuo village, located at the foot of Mount Kerinci. (L,D)
Day 02: Trail Head – Shelter 3
Depart after breakfast to head trail
(1500 Msal) by car accompany by your local guide then begin your ascent
to Shelter 3 (3,200 Msal), overnight in tent. (B,L,D)
Day 03: Peak of Kerinci – Shelter 3 – Kersik Tuo
Early morning start and Full day
climbing for the Peak of Mount Kerinci with your guide. Breakfast and
lunch served by your guide. After finished climbing, descend down to
Kersik Tuo village on foot via 3rd Shelter. Dinner and overnight at
Tourist Guesthouse in Kersik Tuo village. (B,L,D)
Day 04: Full Day Gunung Tujuh Excursion
Begin your full day excursion after
breakfast. visiting Lake Gunung Tujuh, located in the crater of Mount
Tujuh by car accompany with your guide incl. Jungle walking in the
tropical rainforest where can be observed wildlife animals i.e.Tiger,
elepahant. Dinner serve at Tourist Guesthouse in Kersik Tuo village.

Day 5: Depart to Padang City
Today we will depart to Padang City, you
can make a stop on the way to Padang if you wish to make a picture on
your trip and your lunch will serve at local Restaurant enroute, Arrival
Padang Check in to Hotel and free at your leisure time.
Day 6: Padang City Tour – Airport
Today it’s time to have a half day city
tour of the Padang City before we proceed to Padang airport for your
flight back to Jakarta, lunch serve at local Restaurant enroute. Arrival
Padang Airport, end of trip.
